川浦渓谷(かおれけいこく) 

Kaore Valley

This hidden valley in Itadori retains snow until May.
The spectacular scenery changes beautifully from season to season, always creating a mysterious atmosphere.
Lush green foliage in late May and brilliant red leaves in November create stunning scenery.

Japanese Cedar

These unique cedars have a single trunk that splits into multiple branches at a height of 2 to 6 meters.
In the “21st Century Forest Park,” there is a unique area of stump-shaped Japanese cedar trees, estimated to be 100 to 500 years old, that is filled with the mystery of nature.

Ajisai Kaido

Ajisai Kaido is a scenic 24-km road along the Itadori River, part of the Shirotori-Itadori Line via National Route 256. It is recognized as one of Japan’s “100 Best Roads.” 
From late June to early July, when all the hydrangeas are in full bloom, the area along the foot of the small hill where the hydrangea garden is located is filled with a fantastic mood.

Nameless Pond (Monet’s Pond)

The unnamed pond is commonly known as “Monet’s Pond” . This crystal-clear pond, adorned with floating water lilies and swimming carp, is renowned for its stunning scenery reminiscent of Monet’s “Water Lilies” .

From early June to mid-July, Sugishima offers an after-dinner firefly viewing party.
You can enjoy the fantastic twinkling lights dancing on the surface of the river.

高賀神社

Koga Shrine

This is an old temple founded in the first year of the Yoro era. The Treasure House features a collection of Buddhist statues associated with mountain worship, designated as important cultural properties by the prefecture, making it a must-see attraction. The Enku Memorial Hall next to the temple exhibits stone Buddhas related to Enku.

高賀神社 神水庵

Koga Shrine Shinsui-an

This is one of the most famous waters in Gifu Prefecture, where 400,000 people draw water every year. At Shinsui-an, located in the far shrine of Koga Shrine, you can draw natural mineral water that has gushed out from the stratum of the earth more than 100 million years ago.

Udatsu-style Houses

Udatsu are fire-resistant walls built at the ends of roofs to prevent fires from spreading between neighboring houses.
Mino City is lined with merchant houses built from the Edo period to the Meiji period, and many udatsu of various styles remain.

Mino, a town of light

This event is a permanent exhibition of award-winning works and donated works from the Mino Washi Akari Art Exhibition.
Every year, about 70 works are displayed in front of the eaves of the town. The warm light through the washi lights up the townscape.

(This event runs from mid-October to late November.)

淡墨桜

Usuzumi-zakura Cherry Tree

The tree is over 1,500 years old, 17 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 11 meters and branches that spread out to 50 meters.
It is called “Danshoku-zakura” (light-ink cherry blossoms) because the blossoms are white when in full bloom and change to a light-ink color when they fall after full bloom.

(The blooming season lasts from late March to mid-April.)

Oyada Maple Valley

The area around Oyada Shrine is a virgin forest of approximately 3,000 mountain maples, designated as a national natural monument.
In late November, the Oyada Hinkoko Festival is held to pray for a good harvest.

郡上八幡城

Gujo Hachiman Castle

Gujo Hachiman Castle has the oldest reconstructed wooden castle tower in Japan. The view of the town of Gujo from the castle tower and the scenery colored with autumn leaves is breathtaking. The historic scenery attracts many visitors.

Shirakawa-go

Nestled among the mountains, Shirakawa-go is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its traditional gassho-style houses. The landscape, characterized by thatched-roof houses, shows different expressions from season to season. The snowy winter scenery is especially fantastic and attracts visitors.

This elegant district, often referred to as “Little Kyoto,” offers a glimpse into Japan’s rich history. Lined with wooden townhouses and sake breweries that retain the atmosphere of the Edo period, the area is crowded with many tourists throughout the four seasons.
